제가 훈련한 pecs 아동은 자폐아동이며, 7세 아동으로 구어적 자발 표현이 부족하여, 자신이 원하는 것을 신체적으로 표현하는 경우가 많았습니다. 또한 자신의 요구가 정확히 전달되지 않는 경우엔 돌발행동을 보이는 경우가 많았습니다. 남자아동이어서 돌발행동을 보이는 경우에는 힘으로 통제가 안 될 때가 많이 있었습니다. 아동과 처음 PECS를 사용하면서 이 아동이 이렇게 세밀하게 요구하기를 원하는 아동인지를 처음으로 알게 되었습니다. 사탕도 파란색 사탕을 좋아하구, 아동이 원하는 책이 노란색 책이 었다는 것을 저도 아동과 PECS수업을 하면서 알게 되었답니다.
